At Behavior Frontiers, our mission is to provide each family and child with the highest quality behavioral services possible. But what exactly does “high quality” mean in regard to a behavioral program? We have identified several key components of excellent behavioral services, which we strive to implement with each family we serve.
Low supervisor-to-client ratios
Accessible supervisors and administrative staff
High standards and recruitment criteria for new therapists
Extensive field training for new therapists
Ongoing training and performance reviews for therapists
Supervisor and therapist retention and stability on client caseloads
Parental involvement
Utilization of parent feedback
Child-based, as opposed to curriculum-based, programming
Individualized teaching strategies
Our goal is for all the families at Behavior Frontiers to receive “priority” treatment in regard to staffing, scheduling, programming and overall time commitment. Therefore, we pay close attention to every detail of both the clinical and administrative components of each child’s program. Paired with our expertise in curriculum design and behavioral management techniques, Behavior Frontiers is motivated to help children with autism spectrum disorders reach their full potential.
Furthermore, Behavior Frontiers is an agency in which families and employees are valued and respected throughout all aspects of the treatment program. At Behavior Frontiers, we genuinely care about the families with whom we work and we are committed to providing them with excellent service. We welcome the opportunity to speak with interested families so that we may answer any questions and describe our services in more detail.
Certifications
Behavior Frontiers is a nonpublic agency, certified by the California Department of Education to provide behavior intervention development (BID) and behavior intervention implementation (BII). The Clinical Director, Helen Mader, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and she earned her Masters of Arts degree in psychology from San Diego State University.
Children Served
The Behavior Frontiers’ staff provides services to children with pervasive developmental disorders, such as Autistic Disorder, Asperger’s Disorder and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS). Our staff is trained to provide therapies for children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years.
Collaboration
Behavior Frontiers collaborates with a variety of professionals, including speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, educational psychologists and school personnel to design a program that is specific to each child’s needs.
Bio-Medical
We support and work in conjunction with a number of bio-medical interventions, which may be recommended by a child’s physician. Some of these interventions include a gluten free/casein free diet (GF-CF), nutritional supplements, chelation or medications. We also encourage families to learn about bio-medical interventions by participating in support groups (e.g., Talk About Curing Autism) and attending conferences (e.g., Defeat Autism Now) that disseminate new research.
