Virtual Field Trip: Autism Care Center in Edina, Minnesota

Edina, Minnesota is a suburb of Minneapolis, and was home to one of Behavior Frontiers’ first autism care centers. Now, we are pleased to announce that our center is expanding to offer autism care to even more children!

If you’re looking for autism care near Minneapolis, our center is open and enrolling! This center already featured a mix of purpose-built playrooms and smaller, individual therapy rooms. With this expansion, we will allow for a greater opportunity for sensory and social skills interactions for our clients. The expansion will result in the addition of a specialized social skills room, an enhanced sensory playroom, additional one-to-one ABA therapy rooms, a cozy lobby for secure drop off of children, and a parent training room.

The person entrusted with bringing ABA therapy to Edina is Clinical Director Jeremy Roberts.

Meet Our Behavior Frontiers Edina Clinical Director, Jeremy Roberts

Jeremy Roberts received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He later went on to get his master’s degree in education and applied behavior analysis from the University of Wisconsin.

Jeremy has 17 years of experience working with children with autism and other related disorders in clinic and school settings. During this time, Jeremy gained experience working with all types of children and their various needs.

He has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since 2016.

A Minnesota local, Jeremy says that Edina and Minneapolis offer endless opportunities to suit a wide range of interests. “Edina is only ten minutes away from the Mall of America, the largest shopping mall in the country. There are so many excellent restaurants in the area. The Mississippi River runs through the city, offering many opportunities for boating, hiking, walking, and more summer fun.”

Minnesota also has a lot to offer for autism families.

“Minnesota has some of the best resources for families with a child that has autism in the country,” Jeremy continues. “The Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) benefit makes ABA services for all families with a child with autism more accessible regardless of the parent’s primary insurance."

"EIDBI services are also now free in the state of MN for those parents with a MN Medicaid plan. Minnesota eliminated the parental fee associated with MN Medicaid (for ABA services) in July of 2023, making ABA services much more accessible and affordable to our families. MN also has a strong support system for families through various state, local, and private advocacy groups.”
