Upon completion of the checklist, the clinician will determine which types of Telehealth treatment would be recommended, if applicable. These treatment options are explained below.

Supervision with Behavior Technician, parent, and child: Direct Therapy will be provided in the home by a Behavior Technician, but clinical management will be provided via telehealth.

In this scenario, the Client and Behavior Technician are at the home and the Supervisor is remote. The Behavior Technician would implement the treatment plan with the Client while the Supervisor observes via videoconferencing and provides feedback. This may also be a situation in which a team meeting can take place if the parent joins.

Supervision/Parent Training with parent and child: Parent Training, involving both the client and their family, will be offered via telehealth, so the parent can implement programs in-home.

In this situation, the Client and Parent are at the home and the Supervisor is remote. The Parent would implement the treatment plan with the Client, while the Supervisor observes via videoconferencing and provides feedback. The Supervisor will take data on Parent Training goals. The Supervisor will use Microsoft Teams to coordinate videoconferencing in order to model various strategies for the Parent.

Supervision/Parent training with parent only: Parent Training, with just the parent/caregiver, will be offered via telehealth, so the parent can implement programs in-home.

In this scenario, the Supervisor or Behavior Technician provides intervention via videoconference (Microsoft Teams), while the Client sits with the Parent. The Behavior Therapist or Supervisor can provide feedback to the Parent when s/he is implementing the appropriate steps or when s/he requires correction.

Treatment with parent and client: Direct Therapy will be completely provided via telehealth, with the client and their parent/caregiver.

In this scenario, the client is at home and the Behavior Therapist or Supervisor is remote. This type of treatment requires that the parent or caregiver be present and available for the entirety of the session.

Treatment with client only: Direct Therapy will be completely provided via telehealth with the client.

In this situation, the Client is at home and the Behavior Therapist or Supervisor is remote. This type of treatment does not require the Parent to be in the room sitting next to the Client, but the Parent should be nearby to check in frequently, and should be available for redirection. This type of service requires that the Client has certain skills, including compliance, attention, eye contact, joint attention, fine motor dexterity, and the ability to follow one-step directions.

If the Supervisor determines that Telehealth would be appropriate for the client, they will complete a list of treatment goals for both parent and client that would be targeted utilizing Telehealth services. These goals can be updated or modified as needed.

Treatment Plan
The Behavior Supervisor will develop the treatment/behavior plan and make any updates/changes to that plan, pursuant to the goals outlined in the Telehealth Screening Checklist.

The Treatment Plan Must:

  • Be consistent with the client’s diagnosis

  • Include baseline and mastery criteria for all goals

  • Have objective and measurable short and long term goals

  • List treatment priorities and milestones for progress

  • Have an estimated time frame for goal attainment

  • Be updated whenever goals are achieved or new problems are identified.
