Employee Profile: Erin Rivera — Behavior Frontiers

A little over thirty years ago I learned about Autism. I was a young girl, and a close family member was diagnosed with “Severe and Profound Autism”. Despite learning of Autism over thirty years ago, I had no idea what ABA therapy was until 2008. I happened to apply for a job because it involved working with children with Autism. I was truly amazed at what I saw just in the first week of working as a behavior technician. After years of observing other strategies and therapies, I had never seen such an effective, systematic, enjoyable, and individualized therapy as ABA.

Not long after learning of ABA, I changed my career path from becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, to becoming a Behavior Analyst. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Special Education and Graduate Certifications in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis. I went through my experience hours under an amazing team of BCBA’s and transitioned into a BCBA role in 2017. I went on to work as an Assistant Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, and then as an Interim Regional Director.

I am now in my fifth year as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and am beyond thrilled to be a part of the Behavior Frontiers team as the Clinical Director for Houston. I am excited to help with the expansion of Behavior Frontiers to the Greater Houston area. With the prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder increasing as it has been, it is imperative that quality in-home services be available to those within our community. I am honored to work for a company that works diligently to provide exceptional training to our staff and quality of services to our clients.
