Telehealth is a way of delivering health care services via information and communication technologies, while the patient is at the originating site (such as home or work) and the healthcare provider is at a distant site. Telehealth is not a distinct service. Rather, it is a way that providers deliver health care to patients that approximates in-person care. Crucially, the standard of care must remain the same, whether care is provided in-person or via Telehealth. To put it simply, telehealth services have to maintain the same level of care that the patient could expect to receive with an in-person appointment, but it offers the convenience of avoiding long waits and crowded offices!

Why is Telehealth Beneficial?

Telehealth is beneficial for a number of reasons. Because services offered via telehealth must maintain the same standard of care as in-person services, most of the programs that we work on in the home can be adapted to a telehealth setting. Programs are under constant review by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to ensure that they are continuing to meet the needs of our clients and their families.

In-home ABA treatment minimizes potential exposure to COVID-19 . No need drive, park or enter a center or facility while keeping socially distant from others. In the most commonly used model of care, only the Behavior Therapist enters the home, while supervision is done remotely. This significantly cuts down on the number of people who have to enter your home. Depending on the needs of the client, we may even be able to offer ABA therapy entirely remotely! Your Case Manager will discuss these options with you.

To ensure the safety of the clients we serve, Behavior Frontiers employees follow strict guidelines and protocols regarding infection control. Our technicians wear masks, practice frequent hand washing, and adhere to thorough screening prior to entering a home.

Telehealth does offer one additional benefit! Families in remote regions can access ABA services via Telehealth and can gain needed services more quickly in those areas.
