What is School-Based ABA Therapy?

School-based ABA therapy places a dedicated, BCBA-supervised Behavior Technician directly in your child's school, supporting them 1:1 through the school day with the same evidence-based applied behavior analysis strategies used in all of our ABA therapy programs.

For families in regions where school partnerships are established, school-based ABA can serve as a child's primary ABA service. Families outside our current partnership regions may also be eligible through their insurance or Medicaid coverage. Contact our team to find out what's possible in your area.

What Behavioral Skills Does It Address?

School-based ABA focuses exclusively on behavioral and social skills needed in a school environment (not academic content). We help children build the skills they need to access their education and participate fully in their classrooms.

Who is it For?

School-based ABA therapy is available in select regions through two pathways:

School district partnerships: Behavior Frontiers currently has established partnerships with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD), and Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) in Southern California. Families in these districts can request school-based ABA services through Behavior Frontiers at their child's IEP meeting.

Insurance or Medicaid funded: Families outside our current school district partnerships may still be eligible for school-based ABA if their commercial insurance or Medicaid plan covers medically necessary, in-school behavioral health services. Contact our team to verify your coverage.

No. School-based ABA therapy can be a family's primary ABA service where school partnerships exist or where Medicaid or insurance plans cover in-school ABA therapy. Prior enrollment in a Behavior Frontiers center or home program is not required.

How does Behavior Frontiers coordinate with my child's school?

We work directly with school administrators and staff to coordinate access, scheduling, and communication. Your child's BCBA maintains oversight of the program, and the Behavior Technician works collaboratively with the school team to ensure a consistent, unified approach across all environments.

Is school-based ABA available at every Behavior Frontiers location?

What is school-based ABA therapy?

School-based ABA therapy places a dedicated, BCBA-supervised Behavior Technician directly in your child's school to support them during the school day.
